Score Great Accommodations for Less | Travel Tips

I recently stumbled upon an article from the Huffington Post with some tips for getting a cheap hotel room. While they gave some sound advice, to me it seemed that they had really only hit the tip of the iceberg. A few of my “go-to” tricks weren’t mentioned, so I’ve decided to share what strategies and tools I use when trying to figure out my travel accommodations without completely breaking the bank. Planning the Route & Itinerary | Europe 2016

They say that sometimes the planning is almost just as fun as the trip itself, and I have to say that I whole-heartedly agree. Trip Report | Italy 2012

See, this is why I should have started my travel journal/blog a bit sooner. Luckily, I jotted down some notes while I was traveling in Italy, but I still wish I had properly journaled everything in much greater detail. The Dates are Booked! | Mexico 2016

I’m really excited because today we finally got to put one of our wedding gifts to use… booking our trip to Mexico!  Two of our dear friends were kind enough to gift us accommodations for 4 nights in Playa del Carmen, and we now have our official dates reserved. Even though it’s still nearly a year away, I’ll be thankful for having an exotic locale to escape to when it’s freezing and snowing here in Wisconsin. It’ll be a nice relaxing vacation, with hopefully a side trip to Cozumel and lots of margaritas on the beach. Continue reading

My true travel journey began when I went to Germany for spring break my freshman year of college. Once I stepped off that plane in Frankfurt, I felt so free and so at home. A year and a half later I was on my way to Spain for a semester abroad, and soon enough I found myself in Costa Rica and then finally Italy. I felt nothing could get in the way of fulfilling my wanderlust… Continue reading
